Wi-Fi for current staff and students (and some academic visitors)
We recommend current staff and students use eduroam to connect to the Wi-Fi. Connecting to eduroam means you can also access all subscription e-resources without needing to navigate multiple paywalls or log-in screen.
Eduroam is also used by many institutions around the world so if you are visiting us, or you are visiting another institution, you should be set up for seamless access to the Internet whenever you travel.
To set up eduroam for the first time on a device, please follow the eduroam instructions on the UIS website.
Wi-Fi for other users of the Library
Members of the public, conference and departmental guests, museum visitors and any other non-Cambridge University members are welcome to use the UniOfCam-Guest service.
UniOfCam-Guest should not be used by existing members of the University who have a valid CRSid but can be used temporarily if you're setting up eduroam or if eduroam is down.
Visitors and guests can:
- get free wireless connectivity where the University Wireless Service is available
- sign in using email, Amazon, Facebook, GitHub or LinkedIn
- connect in outdoor public spaces, such as Jesus Green, Parkers Piece and The Mill Pond
- connect in University of Cambridge museums, including Fitzwilliam Museum, Kettles Yard and Scott Polar Research Institute
- connect up to 3 devices each
- use the same guest session for up to 7 days, at which point you will need to sign in again
For further information on how to connect to this service, please follow the UniOfCam-Guest instructions on the UIS website.
Users with a University Library card
Please note that connecting to the UniOfCam-Guest service through the Library Reader option should work in the Haddon Library as it does in the main University Library building.
For more information, please refer to the University Library's dedicated guidance on this type of access.
